On Tuesday June 17th, we have two interns from Norway starting work with us for the Summer '08. One is from the isle of Giske and her name is Eslebeth Giske. She is an industrial designer and will being doing work on digital mapping and devices to carry our tours. The other intern Kjersti, is from Voss, Norway and has an amazing ability to gather user data. She'll be digging into our Aquarium project and also working with citizen journalists.

On Sunday, March 9th, Untravel Media CEO Michael Epstein presented a Core Conversation at SXSW, one of the largest Music, Film, and Interactive Festivals in the world. The South by Southwest Interactive Festival "celebrates the creativity and passion behind the coolest new media technologies." Michael's interactive panel was entitled "Mobile Media You Can Move To," introducing and elaborating upon Untravel Media's mobile narrative solutions (or MNS).

The Untravel Media production, "Beyond the Yard," can now be viewed for free in its entirety on the Mobile Tourism portion of the Cambridge Office for Tourism website.
Untravel is also hosting the free downloadable versions on our Take a Tour page. For a limited time, the Smartphone, iPod video (MP4), and iPod audio (MP3) tours are available. For more information about "Beyond the Yard," including images, please click here.

Untravel has been hired by the Cambridge Office for Tourism to develop a guide to Old Cambridge and Tory Row. The tour will add a mobile multimedia layer to existing historic markers and port travelers through Cambridge's old walkways and distinct social fabric. The tour is scheduled for release in Q1 2008 and will be available for free download and viewing on the Untravel site and the Cambridge Office of Tourism website for a limited time. The tour will then become available from the Untravel Store.

The "Creeping Through Boston" productions are now available for free viewing and download for a limited time!
These three tours were created by the winners of Untravel's Producer Grant contest. This was Untravel's first in a series of calls for submissions, encouraging local Boston area producers to submit tours that fit into the theme: "Creeping Through Boston" - spooky and/or emotional storylines that you can walk with.
The tours are:
"The Greatest Neighborhood This Side of Heaven" by Kate Majzoub
"Seeking Sanctuary in Salem" by Mike Boudo
"Boston's Little Lanes and Alleyways" by Sasha Mandel

On Tuesday, November 6th, Untravel Media was a featured presenter and speaker at WebInno15.
The Web Innovators Group is an "informal gathering of people interested in internet and mobile innovation free and open to all in the community." CEO Michael Epstein led an Untravel software demonstration as part of a "Side-Dish" session. In total, there were 85 companies that presented at WebInno15.
